Curtis and Carder Services Ltd are a proud family run business working from the heart of Oxfordshire.

The company was founded by Alan Carder and Tim Curtis over 30 years ago in 1982. The pair tossed a 50 pence piece to decide whose name would go first and, after best out of three, Tim won and Curtis and Carder was born!

By 1988 the company had begun to grow to a point where the office in the shed was no longer big enough and a single garage was built in Alan Carder's back garden with an office in the back, allowing for more room for storage and hiring of staff.

​

Eight years later, in 1996, the company was now outgrowing the offices in Alan's garden and we needed a newer, bigger space. Tim's father had a commercial unit empty in Hardwick, 3 minutes up the road, so the company moved into the much larger premises. The unit was, in actual fact, a barn conversion with more than enough space for more parts for jobs and enough office space for a much larger team, exactly what Alan and Tim were looking for. This is where the company continues to operate from to this day.

2007 saw Curtis and Carder become a limited company, thus becoming the widely known Curtis and Carder Services Ltd.

Six years passed and Tim decided it was his time to move on so, in 2013, Alan bought Tim's shares from him and carried on the company.

​

In 2020, however, Alan decided it was now his turn to step back from being Managing Director and it was decided that the job would go to his middle son, Michael Carder. Alan, of course, continues to work at Curtis and Carder.

​

As of 2024, we employ 36 people and have 28 vans on the road, carrying out all manner of plumbing, heating and servicing works across Oxfordshire and 3 neighbouring counties.

​

We really do pride ourselves on being a family business, with Michael Carder as the Managing Director of the company, his younger brother Graham Carder is the Servicing Manager and their older brother Stuart Carder is the company's Estimator. Not to mention Michael's wife, Lorraine Carder, works in the invoicing department in the office, it truly is a family affair.
